Entempo Announces 20 GB Hard Drive Digital Music Jukebox with Sho X™ Technology based on SigmaTel‘s advanced audio chipset

Milpitias , CA ( February 16, 2005 ) -- Entempo LLC. announces a new 20 GB music player, Rubato, with Digital Rights Management (DRM) and ShoX technology, based on the ST 3550 series chipset. As the leading manufacturer of portable audio chipsets, SigmaTel’s features include several codecs including Microsoft’s DRM, MP3 and regular WMA.

Entempo LLC is the first company to use the SigmaTel chipset in a 20 GB Jukebox. The Rubato is based on a 1.8” hard drive and will support capacities of 40 GB and 60 GB in the future. Currently, the 20 GB is shipping.

As the market for legitimate downloads explodes, DRM based portable devices allow users full mobility of their music libraries. The 20 GB drive can hold an average of over 5000 songs as well as other data files. Other features of the Rubato include an FM Tuner, ear bud recording, USB 2.0 for fast data transfer and MusicMagic playlist management software--the ultimate digital music power tool.

MusicMagic ™ by Predixis automatically analyzes the user’s music collection. Based on acoustical analysis, a “sounds like” playlist can be created automatically and quickly, just by picking one song. With MusicMagic ™ now on the Rubato, playlists can be created on the go.
